I might send them a couple of recommendations. One of them has to do with issuing receipt notices the same day or next day instead of waiting for weeks by using bar-code technology in forms. I will post a copy of email here once I send it.

Last week I received a copy of �Approved I-140� using Freedom of Information Act. I took almost 7 months to get requested information. Following are the steps to use FOIA:
1. Write a cover letter (Sample attached)

3. Write your I-140 Receipt # in �Column 4�.

My lawyer says i can join company B as soon as USCIS has received my application for H1B transfer? is this true or do we have to wait for receipt number/case number?
I need to know this because my company will not file I-485 until i join them but under the current backlog CSC is having a huge backlog with receipting H1B transfer cases.
Please help

The pamphlet covers the visa process, important documents, workplace and employee rights, human trafficking, and how to file a complaint. This is a very useful document, not just for immigrants. My friend is filing for student visa(for masters) as her H1B is about to expire in september(already has 6 years on it). She has worked on different projects and even had part-time jobs but she couldnt find a company that can sponsor her H1b. She was also jobless for an year(last)...long story.....anyways.. She lives with her family but her parents cannot help her much cuz their green card application is still in process but she is above 35 yrs old. Now she cannot think of how to answer these questions on F1-Visa.
-Describe the events that led to your decision to study in the U.S.
�Describe your intention concerning departure from the U.S.
�Show evidence that establishes that you have a residence abroad to which you intend to return
She is from Pakistan and althu she has relatives there and plus her parents own a house(proof of her resident in PK that she can return to) too but you know how the situation is there and she wants to live with her parents. So how should she answer the above questions?

I received an email from my lawyer on 26th June 2007 that they have received my approved labor certification in mail today. I got my medical examination i.e. form I-693 performed on June 23rd 2007 and received the results on June 25th 2007. I have already filed my I-485. Will it be a problem since I have got my medical test done a few days before receiving my labor certification.

Brief History: I am working for a Food Processing company (A) in R&D. Company A was my sponsor for GC. I have been on EAD since Oct 2007 (filed 485 during July-Aug 2007 time period) :) . My I-140 was approved Jan 2007. My GC application was started in Apr 2006 - Perm process. Also, i still have my H1B(Extension) valid until Apr 2010. Company A uses a consulting firm for roughly about 25 - 35% of R&D projects.
Reason to change: I believe this opportunity will have a significant change/growth to my career.
Questions: :confused: Can i change my job to the consulting firm using EAD? What are the consequences i should expect from USCIS? Does the Consulting company have to get involved with any Immigration fillings?
If i decide to work for the consulting firm, i will still be doing the same job for Company A but as a consultant + I will have additional projects with other Food Processing companies. I think labor application job description won't change (Company A to Consulting Firm) and this is where i struggle to understand the rules. Need your thoughts and Advice.
Appreciate your help and Thanks for your time.

sorry to break it to you - but he's quitting a very happy man as every other rupublican is trying to 'out-tancredo tancredo' as he himself put it. he's done his job and poisoned the atmosphere which is all he wanted to do.
I disagree . He thought his immigration stance will take him to white house. He earlier announced that he will not run for congress again. Poison can be taken care of as long as you kill the snake so that it does not bite other people.
