Real mature! You make shitty decisions of buying expensive homes, you don't own up your mistakes, you don't keep up your commitment of paying back the loan you have taken, you screw up people who ARE paying their mortgages, then blame the banks ALONE for the mess you are in!
What banks did was "predatory" lending. Now I would sympathize with if someone with no education to fall into such a mess and balme it on the lender. You and others like you who balme the banks all consider yourselves "higly educated" and "higly skilled". Hell you are even demanding congress to hand you a green card claiming to be one. I would like to run a questions by you guys/gals. I am getting ready to file my I-485 application. My lawyer requested that I find all copies of my I-20, OPT EAD, H1-B's etc. My question is do we have to submit copies of I-20, and OPT EAD for the Adjustment of status (I-485) stage ? Please let me know what you think ?
I-20 is from a university that accept students in the US. The F1 student visa is issued based on the I-20.

If USCIS wants to do bad regulations, they will do it - with or without IV campaign for reform. What is the gaurantee that Michael Aytes will not issue a memo tommorrow restricting job movements further? They always keep doing that every now and then, on their own.
Given the current volume of changes 350,000 apps, regulations are bound to change, one way or another. Whether you want it or not. If USCIS officers (not the top brass) feel overburdened with EAD/AP work they'll start issuing more, and more, random RFEs, NOIDs etc. to reduce their burden ( passing the burden to you). They also might introduce labor market and other restrictions to reduce the backlog by eliminating all AC21 users. What is stopping them from doing it on their own?

By requesting the 'right' changes, we are making sure 'wrong' changes don't happen. the first contact for the congressman's office is the relevant consulate. so it doesn't hurt. it is a simple process. your boss has to sign a confidentiality release document for you and attach a cover letter. to help your boss, identify the congressman, go to the congressman's website and find out where the forms are, write a draft cover letter etc . you can do this yourself i.e enquire as a constituent just in case you don't want to involve your boss. i think it may be better that it goes through your boss

Ask them to connect you to the head/Senior executive. I did the same thing with my local cable+phone and was connected to a the head of their customer Service. That person connected me to more senior marketing person. That marketing person called me and emailed me to discuss. The company had no idea about Vonage plan and seemed unprepared to have a strategy to stop the exodus of its customers to Vonage.
All of you can do the same. When more people do it, it will generate market demand and customer demand that money hungry capitalist companies cannot ignore. If you do not do it, then one company will have monopoly over this market.

boreal, cool down. Just think what you will do if you are in that situation.
At personal level ( micro level) these people are making right decisions. As long as you are not committing crime, nothing wrong with making decisions which are good for you. I will probably do the same thing if I am in that situation.
The core problem with system was cheap money because of lax lending standard and low interest rates ( blame Greenspan) and affordable housing (like ACORN from Dems). These decisions are made by people in power and so called smart people. Individuals do have their contribution to the problem but the macro decisions provided them means to have things which they can not afford. The bubble had to burst sooner or later ....
So right now, remember wealth is always relative. So since you haven't bought house, you don't have negative equity or declining value home.You haven't foreclosed so you can still get loan at decent rate and buy house at much cheaper price. All the people with money in the market are affected by recent downturn. So relatively speaking you are doing much better than a lot of other people ....
BTW I am in the same situation as you are and waiting for good opportunity to buy house at cheap price. Do you see the positive side ? I hope you do .....

tracker site data is fake....... tracker site has employees sitting in India...... those employees create fake ids and fake profiles....... then they write post using those fake ids to create an impression that there are lot of people posting on the tracker site...... if you look at title of most threads...... they are framed in the manner that will be inviting most others to write on the thread.......... every few days these employees sitting in India..... using a fake profile ........ start a new thread with a title something like .... 'i got it i got it ' or ' i am green' or something similar..... and using other fake ids the same bunch of employees ask fake questions from op..... who is also a fake handle...... so the data there is totally fake..... that data represents the need of the tracker site to make people to come to their site...... that data does not represent the sample data...... not even close.....

How long does it take to receive RFE letter by mail? Can we get a copy of RFE letter at the InfoPass appointment. I don't have patience anymore to wait. At least they can tell us what the RFE is about on the phone. These guys are trying my patience.

My attorney told me that there are several July 2 cases they have not heard back about, although they got receipts for July 19 and later cases long time ago. They told that they are making a formal enquiry. How do they do that I don't know.
I just hope that it is just a normal RIRO, not a lost bundle of applications which was originally marked for rejection/return.

NSC sent me a response that my GC got lost in mail as I raised a SR for card. My wife got CPO but I got a letter from USCIS NSC that my card was sent on the same day my I-485 approval notice was sent which I think is some mix up on USCIS and to file I-90 . I got all letters from USCIS but not this one so I called customer service and talked to 2nd level IO who went through my case and said card was never created. She will raise a new SR for that which was on 10/12/2010

Where did I say that american's gave better advice than desis. I was just trying to compare mentality of two diff community for a same situation.

When you ask for advice, you need humility. Not call others stupid, when it looks like you made the same mistake. You bought a home which you were in no safe position to afford. There are people who didn't buy because they saw what was coming. Can these guys call you stupid because you didn't see what was coming? I don't know why my tax dollar should be used to bail out guys like you who are/were irresponsible, while I patiently rent out this mess caused by you guys? :mad::mad:

USCIS: RUMORS OF EARLY VISA RETROGRESSION
Late Wednesday, rumors emerged that the USCIS may attempt to retrogress the July immigrant visa numbers early in July and reject I- 485 (adjustment of status) applications filed early in the month. USCIS has taken such action already with respect to the �other worker� visa category involving non-professional workers.
Visa availability is based on the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin, which is published monthly, not on a rolling basis. If USCIS cuts off visa numbers in mid-month, this would be a clear violation of Federal law and agency policy. If the USCIS were to take this arbitrary action, it would cause significant problems for applicants and employers alike.
If USCIS cuts off applications on a certain date in early July, this will most likely occur without advance warning. In that case, not all applications will be accepted for processing. Be aware that that USCIS will reject an application unless it contains certain minimum supporting documents. For I-485 applications, minimum documents include a completed medical examination and birth certificates (or secondary evidence of birth, which must meet specific USCIS requirements). Applications for dependent spouses must include a marriage certificate. We strongly recommend that I-485 applicants obtain these and other requested documents as soon as possible. Until further notice, please do not plan to travel internationally during the month of July.
We will work as hard and as diligently as possible to get I-485 applications filed quickly. This will require active cooperation by all applicants to obtain needed documents. Again, please understand that the proposed USCIS action is just rumor at this point, but if the USCIS takes such action, it will likely be without warning. Further, it is possible that there could be retroactive rejections of applications once filed. Unfortunately, this is all we know at this time. We do not know when and if any such actions will occur; we will also not know immediately which, if any, cases are rejected once they have been submitted.
The attorneys at XXXXX are shocked and disappointed that the government could take such ill-thought and arbitrary steps and we will work to fight any illegal action by the USCIS. We are continuing to monitor the USCIS� actions and will provide updates as they become available

Please don't get pissed with people telling you right or wrong. My take on EB-3 issue is write to Rep. Zoe Lofgren in large number, as far as I know she understand the Retrogression mess as a whole, but she's not aware the typicle problem faced by EB-3 because of the asylum(245i) given by the congress. If she would use this logic, she can go farther...

I have done my homework, and I have understood the law properly. On the other hand none of the detractors have provided proof, or material that shows EB3 does not qualify.
And for all those holier-than-thou EB2, what is about the letter campaign to get NSC/TSC to process application according to PDs (no lawful basis for that), and asking the removal of NSC bosses and what not. You seem to have different standards when you are suffering, and when others are suffering. There is a word in the dictionary for that, look it up.

no, the idea is; if you cry for gold you will atleast get silver. When the point is raised that people have been living here legally, paying taxes, ss, owning houses etc etc for 10 years!! What more is actually needed for citizenship?? The idea is to highlight that legal residents (many of them) have been here for ever!! 10 years is almost 15% of an average life span!! If only this thing is highlighted in some strong news papers. Isn't this protectionism at its worst. Us is complaining about labor laws in china???? What the heck is this here??? You pay taxes and ss and medicare etc for 10 years and then you are asked to leave??????????? Isn't this slavery??? Either take of the requirement that workers on visas have to pay the required ss / medicare etc or assume responsibility for having taken their hard earned money and let them in as soon as possible into the society.
somebody with skills in finding out stuff should research on how much money per year is contributed by the working h1b employees and given the numbers that are sent back how much is actually "stolen" from them.
