Can someone please explain what is Form G-639 for . I googled on G-639 but it seems my case fits more on cases when this shouldn't be used. Please please someone please try to understand. All I have is my SSN and all I know is my I-140 is being filed and approved. I don't have the SRC number.

My PD is 2006 under EB-2 category. My family and I filed for GC on the same day. Now, I am planning to file a new I-140 under EB1. My kid is going to be 18 soon. What is the age limit for dependent to file for GC with the parents?

I am on H1B. my wife is on H4. I want to apply ITIN no for my wife.
Q1. should i file under "Spouse of U.S. citizen/resident alien" or "Dependent/spouse of a nonresident alien holding a U.S. visa".
Q2. what are the documents I need to submit with the W-7 form.
Q3. is ITIN application only possible during tax return filing or I can apply and get the ITIN number early and then use it during my tax filing.
Q4. How much is the fee for the ITIN no.

Hello I am leaving for India in two days and have still not received my H1B approval. The receipt date is May 19th 2009. It is being processed at the CA center, is there anything I can to do get it soon.

Regarding "how soon can you go for stamping"
Depends on the consulate. Mumbai consulate allows you to go for stamping 90 days prior to start of your extension. In your case if your extension starts on 1st October 2010, you can go for stamping as early as 5th July 2010. Since you are expecting to receive the extension by August you can go for stamping as soon as you receive it.
I would recommend dropping a mail to VFS and asking this question for the consulate you are interested in.

I have to renew my passport since it is expiring next month.
What is the specification for the passport photo? It it 2inch x 2inch or
is it 3.5cm by 3.5cm
I was preparing to use the same as that of GC process, 2inch x 2inch
but now I need to check this out...

I know this is irrelevant in a way but see it from a different angle for one moment. There is no other forum where you can get any information about these H1 employers who are playing games using retrogression. This is the only forum where most of the people on H1 are related to some desi consulting company and can share their experiences which would help other people who are in huge pain due to the unfair practices of their existing employers.
I would recommend the administrators to create a separate area on this forum where people can share these experiences and find genuine employers.

I was initially issued pp for 5 years in India. Last year in '08 when it was expiring, i sent application for renewal of passport (NY Consulate) based on my EAD. However, instead of renewing it for another 5 years they renewed it for 1 year only. When I called the office, they said that they receive tons of pp's lon EAD which can be renewed for a year only.
Did anybody face this same problem? Can I apply for new passport based on I-485 receipt and would they issue passport for another 5 or 10 years?

You'll get it till expiry dt of your h1, they'll issue a new one with 'CY' under endirsements section meaning you are eligible to ride motorcycle.
My 2 cents - its better to wait until your h1 is renewed.

My I140 has been denied 2 times. 1st time was in EB3 Professional and 2nd was in EB3 Skilled worker category. I am not sure the reason for the 2nd denial since I am waiting for the notice letter.
I urgently need an attorney who has recently cleared a few cases with 3 year degree (only 3 year degree not combination with Masters / Diploma etc)
If you are someone who has 3 year degree and recently got approval, please IM me your attorney's details.

Another amazing day is about to dawn on us :)
I should clarify 2 items on the poll:
a) I have compressed 3 mini polls in one to get max info. So percentages wont make sense.
b) The post jan 15th 2005 is to know how many approvals did not have PD current. I see 4 people voting for it. I am not polling who is waiting with post jan 15 2005 PD.
