Of course Grassley Bill will give more restrictions. But it needs to be analysed whether it is right or wrong. The question is if you want to bring foreigners even if skilled persons are available for that job in USA. If answer is yes then the labor test and layoff provision is wrong. But if you really want to bring foreigners only if skilled persons are not available then the provision does not have any impact on the H1b program. And another provision 50% H1b rule will have only impact on bodyshoppers and Indian consulting companies. But not the H1b aspirants and in longterm that will encourage permanent job hiring in reputed companies.
And if you oppose CIR just for H1b conditions you are going to lose many benefits. Just one provision exclude dependents from EB cap will double or triple GC numbers. And many other provisions will make most or all categories current. I think this time Compete america will not oppose the CIR blindly just because of one provision as they realize what happened on 2007. Smart thing will be negotiate and get a compromise than getting nothing. This is going to be comprehensive bill and everyone will get benefit including anti immigrants. Otherwise nothing.

When new projects are implemented from the scratch in offshore locations, it cannot even be called 'offshoring'. Essentially these kinds of bills will make america a less competitive place for businesses.

Cake - that is by design. Place the contents of your grid inside a ViewBox control (WPF only I believe). Once you have done that, you will see the contents of your grid scale as its height gets altered.

I do not think that you have any issues to work on W2 with an end client or with any other consulting company. Since you have completed six months period with your present employer, who supported to file GC , from the date filing I 485, there should not be any issues at all. Also filing AC21 is optional. If you are on bench your first option should be to find a project ASAP.

Why would anybody ask for visa to issue a driver's license? How is one's driving privilege dependent upon visa? No one has ever asked me or my wife or my friends for a visa to issue a driver's license. Is this some law specific to some states?

My wife just got her EAD yesteday and it was for 2 years. I am expecting mine today and I hope it will be for 2 years as well and interestingly, my I140 is still pending.

Does arrest for driving with suspended license (License suspended for non payment of ticket) come under traffic violation? Any insight would be much appreciated.

H1b visa holder has to quote his/her worldwide income and its unclear if your income in your home country is taxed here be it Adsense income or a business.
No wonder many entrepreneurial ideas either die or are taking roots in Korea, India or China!

Just ask your parents to talk to a lawyer in India. Obtain two separate notarized affidavits from each parent. Hope you have the format. Give it your lawyer and tell him/her that they are the sworn affidavits. Be sure to mention in the affidavits that since there was no requirement of a birth certificate 'for my son/daughter' we never obtained one from the authorities earlier. Hence the new extract just for the purpose of filing immigration petition.
I think your lawyer is just complicating the situation - ?inexperience / jitteriness? When I had to get my BC I had to make my dad travel places on 12 hour trips. It is sad that we have make them run around in their old age. Plus the USCIS is stupid not to accept the date of birth as in the passport. Life is not easy when there are whole lot of dumba&&es around us. Just my opinion.

If you can take direct non-stop flight then avoid the transit visa. Sending originals by mail is always risky. Just my advise.

First try to get a copy of your approved EB3 I-140 through FOIA request with USCIS, this could be a time consuming task. If you are lucky you might get this in 30 days. But heard in the forum that it was even lesser than 30 days they got a copy.
Once you have the copy of I-140, If by the EB3 PD, EB2 is current, then file I-485 with copy of both I-140 (EB3 and EB2) and request for interfiling( refer to my blog post) That is the best bet for you I see now.
